E36 m3 3.15 LSD — Richmond BMW owners

Medium case LSD from e36 M3. Its a 3.15 ratio and seems to be in great shape, though I have never drove it. Performed a visual inspection and checked the pinion drag torque, seems like good unit but like any old diff getting it refreshed by a shop with new plates and clutches would make it like new. Only offering this to local enthusiasts in the richmond area, or any shops that want it. Need to sell it asap to get some parts I need.

My 325i was well overdue for some serious maintenance. I bought it brand new just before I left Germany in 1990. I took it to the dealership for my 1st scheduled maintenance once I returned stateside. When I got the receipt/bill showing what they did, I said this is too expensive. I had to find another way to keep my car running. I loved my car. So over the next 25 years or so. I made sure I changed the oil every 3k miles. I knew how important that was. Whenever I heard a noise or if I felt the car wasnt running right I would take it to different people trying to save money. I think over the years I've done a pretty good job when it came to washing and waxing my car. I was good with that. Okay long story short ........ I met Alex Garzeddine at his house about a month ago. He accessed it along with Andrew Elmore and he told me what I needed. Alex changed all of the seals, gaskets, belts, plugs, wires, radiator, water pump, thermostat, fog lights. My odometer broke about 8 years ago. I wasn't able to track my miles. Everybody I talked to said you have to remove the dash board to fix it and it wouldn't be worth it. Alex pulled the steering wheel off and he fixed it. I can track my miles now. He only charged me $900 for all of this. Everything under the hood is like new now. No leaks anywhere. After that he put the car on a lift. He changed the output shaft seal, selector shaft seal, differential gaskets and seals, rear output shaft, shifter rebuild kit, boots, plugs, bushings, rotors, brake pads and other stuff while he was under it. Everything under the car now is like new. The Car rides 10 times smoother and quieter now. He only charged me $1400. This lil dude is not good....he is BAD...... knows his stuff when it comes to a BMW. Total bill $2300..... UNBELIEVABLE! If you need anything done to your car Alex is THE MAN .....Thanks again Alex! I have a new car now!!!!!

M54B30 block — Richmond BMW owners

I'm selling my M54b30 block with approx 130k miles on it. Rotating assembly would be good for a stroker build. I bought it from a fellow member a few years ago but decided to go a different direction with my e30. Price is $350 or best offer. Pm or comment below if you're interested, thanks.

Any advice for a crank no start situation on an m60b30 I ve checked all fuses... — Richmond BMW owners

Any advice for a crank, no start situation on an m60b30? I've checked all fuses and relays, the DME, and fuel pump. I'm getting fuel so i can rule out CPS failure, the only thing i can boil it down to is bad spark... which doesn't make any sense because the plugs and packs are all fairly new (new withing the last 10k miles). Im getting the correct amount of power to each of the connectors to the coil packs as well..... This engine started and ran on the 31st just fine, 6 days later and no start.

If it helps, the car is an October of 93, last major service was plugs, coils, and intake reseal, and im getting 5 codes: Lambda control #1, Lambda control #2, O2 #1, O2 #2, and Air Mass sensor.

                  Any help is greatly appreciated.

My current e36, being the only one i have owned, is driving me insane. The left taillight/brake light will not work. Turns work, backup works. NEW oem taillight housing, new bulbs, swapped working bulb holders. There is continuity but for some reason no voltage, is it common for the harness to go bad or something else? Only effects the left, but shouldn't left and right running lights/brake lights be on same circuit?

1995 325i Convertible Price OBO or Trade — Richmond BMW owners

I got this car from a neighbor who was in a tight spot. It's got ~205k miles and, according to him, it has a bad auto transmission. I'm looking to see what I can get for the car as it sits. It appears to be fairly solid overall. It runs smoothly and I drove it onto my trailer, so it does move. It's a bit rough around the edges, but could clean up. He said he'd done a bunch of work to it, but I'm not sure what all that was. I might be able to get more details. It appears to have a new top installed. Price is OBO. Free delivery in the DC metro area. Delivery beyond that can be negotiated. I can also have it swapped to a manual trans for a price. I'd also consider trades for something interesting like a motorcycle, gocart, tractor, etc.

1995 Clubsport — Richmond BMW owners

Black on red millpoint. 253k or so, I daily drive it for the mpgs. All stock except I have some cheap coilovers on it. I may swap them for some NEW Bilstein struts with the stock M-sport springs, but I don't want to go through that if the new owner is just going to toss those in favor of some aftermarket stuff. Have the original suspensions, but the struts are blown. I DD it 80 miles a day. I've had it since September 2016, good VA State inspection until 9/2017.

Within the first week or so I did plugs, oil service, all the vacuum lines under the intake. Here's the list from then to now of things done:

-Meyle HD ball joints, inner and outer.

                            -Lemforder M3 control arm bushings.

-Brakes, all four corners, pads, rotors, sensors and parking brake shoes.

-Cabin filters and cleaned the cowl and duckbills off all biotrash. All drains work properly, sunroof included.

-Replaced the left, front sway bar mount as it had ripped free. Typical Ti thing with the huge front sway bar (25-26mm IIRC)

                            -Installed 3:45 LSD

-Tires are fresh. Have a second set of wheels just like the ones on the car.

-Interior is clean. Front seats are a little faded, but not dirty.

-Installed OE tape deck in place of some aftermarket tape deck.

                            -Replaced climate control bulb(s).

                            -ZHP 5sp shift knob.

                            -New hood and hatch struts.

-Accessory belt and pulleys. AC belts is off.

Still on my to do list is a new giubo and shift shaft seal(s). Parts are acquired and will be installed post haste.

There are cosmetic issues such as the hood and rear bumper. Headliner sagging. I've replaced the nose in the pics with a good one that is body color. The car was a NoVa/DC area car so it got some parking kisses. Rear bumper is the worst.

AC is inop. Suspect clutch. System holds a charge, but clutch wouldn't engage even with direct power applied.

                            Pretty firm on price.

                                E34 525i manual — Richmond BMW owners

I've been seeing a lot more e36 posted up for sale lately so ill try this again.

I have a 95 525i sedan with 135k miles now I daily drive. I've done the t-stat, water pump, belts, guibo, and lubed the blower motor in the last two oil changes. Car runs well and has a trm Jim conforti chipped dme (sport exhaust option 91 octane 7k limiter) prior to that at 128k miles it got mhe spherical bushings, new lemforedor control arms, and new rear pads. The wheels are in great shape (e39 style5) the interior is in excellent shape although it's tan. Ac works really well also.

So I want to trade for an e36 328 or better with similar miles or an e46 330i to daily drive.

If you have an e36 m3 we could negotiate with cash your way.

Please excuse the potatoes pics I need to get better ones.

Does anyone in here have the INPA software and if so, willing to help me out this weekend? I've been trying to fix my headlight issue for a while now. Replaced bulb and ballast with no luck. I think it may have been a short so now I want to see if the software can get the low beam to light, and if that's the case I may need the FRM module reset. Just got my car back from the dealer for another issue and don't want to pay the diagnostic fee again just to know what's wrong. I have the KDCAN cable, just no laptop to run the software since it requires windows. 2007 E90.

me stranded but so long! I have two young kids who are not allowed to ride in the car, and so much of my day is wasted trying to

coordinate borrowing someone elses car, and convincing them to take my mine bc it scares me. My brother drives it a few times

a week, and seems to be ok with it to be nice..

My dad use to be my mechanic, and thats no longer an option. I have had 3 people tell me 3 different things on why my Check

engine light is on, I had two of them tell me my VIN # didnt match my car, one tell me it did match. One shop wanted to

charge me $300 to change my spark plugs which to me is crazy! I paid $11.97 for the plugs and changed them in their parking lot

                                      myself in under 30 mins.

**ISO someone to look at it for a reasonable price, and BE HONEST with me on everything thats wrong. Most car parts I can order myself

Selling my 1990 735iL 5spd swapped. Only reason I'm selling is I have a factory 5spd 735, don't need two of these. PO did New clutch, master cylinder, slave cylinder. I've done mustard relay, sparks, distributor + rotor, new battery. Has high pressure AC line leak and slight PS leak (have part). Intermittent brake light warning (put in new switch, just a contact issue with the bulb holder). Passenger lock inop (have actuator to install, works manually), driver lock need adjustment. Rear locks, trunk lock, fuel door lock fine. Black paint, black leather, LSD, rear sunshade, black leather headliner, rear entertainment system. Will consider trades for somebody to turbo my other 735 or an old land cruiser, celicas, or an E21 323. Very fun, very different.

I have a complete set of authentic Racing Dynamics RGS 17x8 wheels I'm considering letting go. Tires are shot but the the wheels themselves are pretty much flawless. No bends and very minimal curb rash (if any at all). I'm not entirely sure what to ask for them, prices on eBay fluctuate from $600 to $1200 for sets of 4. Any reasonable offer will be considered. Also, I'll consider some trades for anything that I could use for my 95 M3. (All 5 have center caps)

Offer away, the worst I can say is no.

Hi all. Tried posting on r3vlimited but was told to try this group instead — Richmond BMW owners

Hi all. Tried posting on r3vlimited but was told to try this group instead. I just picked up a '91 325iX a couple weeks ago that needs some work done. I'm somewhat experienced with working on cars (oil changes, diff and tranny flushes, brake/rotor changes, etc) but am now diving into stuff I haven't messed with before, like changing out the shifter linkage, replacing front diff seals (and a couple other seals). I've already done the valve cover seal and am in the process of replacing the belts, hoses, and water pump. I'm a little nervous about doing the shifter linkage and the other seals (I'm honestly not sure which ones I need exactly as it's pretty hard to tell in a couple spots what exactly is leaking).

So what do I need? Someone that's capable with a wrench that's willing to help me out a little. I don't want anyone to do anything for me as I want to learn so next time around I can do it myself, but rather someone to help point out problems and how to actually replace/fix things. I think I'd eventually be ok and figure most of it out on my own, but I'd feel so much better with someone familiar with this stuff that could drastically reduce the time I spent doing repairs. I'd pay you in beer, any sort of computer help you want (building, diagnosing hardware or software problems), or maybe even taking my M4 for a spin. So yeah....thought I'd ask here as none of my friends are really mechanically savvy.

                                                          S52 — Richmond BMW owners

S52 for sale in Durham, NC for parts or rebuild...

The head was rebuilt at some point and they took off WAY too much material. And then they used a normal thickness head gasket. So the piston-valve clearance wasn't what it was supposed to be, and a valve made contact with a piston.

The cylinder walls and crank and everything are ok, but the piston is pretty banged up, and the head was destroyed. Another head is included and could use a refresh. Needs a piston replaced and the walls honed out because of a little surface rust. I'd recommend rings, hone, one piston, and the head being redone and you'd have a REALLY solid motor.

Car had 144k when motor was pulled, this is my best guess for mileage.

No accessories included other than water pump but if you really need them let me know and we will work it out.

This car has been sitting in the garage taking up space for over 10 years and it's become apparent that it isn't getting fixed. It just recently started living outside, and man is the extra space nice! It ran and drove fine when it was parked due to a side impact to the left quarter panel. Used replacement quarter goes with car.

If you are unavailable first thing in the morning but might be able to make it after Cars and Coffee, please send Mel an email and see if we need any help on the various driving courses.

I bought it back from the insurance company (CLEAN TITLE!) and would like to sell the car whole (perfect donor car) or part it out if there is no interest (starting with the interior and working out, since it is not garaged). The car DOES run and drive. With that being said, I cannot positively say that there is no damage to the motor, but simply that it does run and it was driven into a parking spot without any problems. Damage is to the front bumper, left fender, left headlight, hood, radiator, fan, potentially the power steering pump and coolant reservoir, and anything else by the front left of the engine bay. During the accident no airbags deployed, but the roll bar system in the back head rests of the convertible deployed and have been reset. The interior of the car is a 9/10 (minor wear on driver’s seat and center console), and the exterior of the rest of the car that was not damaged by the accident is around an 8/10 (some swirl marks, random minor scratches and nicks in the paint, small chip in windshield, and a few small dings. The car has been highly maintained and all records are available upon request.
