    • Light silver-gray, don't let Corey Dallara see this. But yeah. My e34 was originally AW/LSG, cool combo, very 90s

    • Cars
    • Derrick D Bundy were they both called LSG in E34 and E32 back then? For some reason I do remember dove being used as a name..somewhere..

    • Dove is an incredibly similar e36 color. The Vaders I showed you were dove. Only bmw nuts know the difference, even then it's scarce. Nobody cares that much lolol

    245/40R17 Hankook RS3

Selling a set of almost-new Hankook RS3 tires, size 245/40R17. These tires have 200 street miles and 2.5 20-minute track sessions on them. We had these mounted and balanced, and then drove straight to the track. Car was light and well-aligned, so wear is perfect/non-existent. They even have the new tire "nubs" still present. Car popped it's head gasket, and was trailered home. Need to sell these to recoup some costs. These currently cost $490 before shipping (~$80) on Tire Rack. Price for these is $400 firm. Located in Long Beach, can meet in LA/OC.

Need Sold ASAP! Will Consider All Serious Offers! Car is Running!

1997 BMW 328i Convertible for sale. 145,XXX miles.

        5 Speed Manual Transmission, Inline 6/ 2.8L

Rear Wheel Drive, the car drives great in town but for long range drives it will require a few repairs.

I bought the car about 8 months ago and had been using it as a daily driver to get around. For being an older vehicle it is in great shape. It does need a little TLC to be perfect.

It will need brakes, heater core hoses replaced, coolant gasket and the windshield has a crack in it. I did put a brand new clutch in just this past November and a brand new radiator in January. Both parts included lifetime warranty if any defects or unnecessary wear were to happen. The engine block itself is bulletproof, its a cast iron block which is the best you're going to find. I have never had any problems with the engine itself whatsoever. Being a 1997, its the first year BMW made this car with the cast iron engine as opposed to the aluminum engine they had been using prior to 97. I can guarantee that no matter how hard you try, you will not blow up this motor. When you buy BMW, you get quality i will say that. Its the best running BMW you are going to find out there for $1000 i know that for a fact!

I registered the car officially in December but failed to complete the smog and turn in the paperwork to get the tags. Unfortunately it was parked at home depot the other day and had gotten impounded since the temporary registration ran out in February. It is currently at the impound lot, fees to release the car are currently about $500 or so.

I am willing to negotiate a good deal so that the car may go to someone else in need instead of the city getting it for free basically. I need to make a deal sooner than later since they add $45 per day that its in there.

Please message me for more details or to take a look at the car. Right now I'm asking for $1000 or best offer for it out the door! Im not responsible for any dmv, title transfer or smog fees at this price, please keep that in mind. I would cover the impound & Police hold fees out of the $1000 I'm asking. Thanks

          • Yea I just took a few more. Let me get into WiFi and I'll post them for you real quick.

          • The towel on the back is covering the back window. I had it fixed up with heavy duty see through plastic but when it got impounded the tow company had to remove it for some reason. I would be able to put it back together like i had it if you wanted it covered again.

          • The car is really dirty right now, however it shines up really nice after a quick wash and a vacuum.

              E36 makeshift angle kit

Hey y'all I have for sale a set of e46 control arms with e36 m3 lollipop bushings on the back, E92 tie rods and cut knuckle spindles from an e36. I was running this setup on my e36 for 2 years and it worked well. The knuckles had 25mm removed and the Ackerman improved it has well balanced handling even at full lock. I finally decided to get an angle kit though so I would like to trade plus cash for them. I need a set of stock non-m3 front spindles, and I need e36 inner tie rods. If anyone is interested shoot me a pm. The car is located in Santa Ana. Open to other offers I am also looking for a zf 5 speed trans and style 32's.

Everything must go! Only thing sold is the longblock and turbos. I have everything else. Car is sapphire black metallic, black sport interior. Aluminum trim. Interior is excellent besides some light bolster wear on the edge of the driver seat, and wear on driver door card arm rest. Body panels are great for. What is shown, as well as passenger door. Driver headlight is good as well.

              Added Sunday project:

I picked up an Ireland Engineering 12" electric fan kit yesterday, when I pulled the Radiator to do some measuring I came up with this plan.

I removed the sheet metal screw clips and replaced them with threaded clips, I ran bolts from behind to secure the 2 aluminum struts. The bolts now double as radiator mounting studs

FYI this wouldn't work with the 10" fan

When I started looking online for where to splice in the Thermo-Switch somebody posted that it threads into the late model drain plug bung

              • Might I suggest that you use bands of metal that are thinner and less restrictive of air flow. Our cars can tend to have some cooling issues on their own, try not to add anything that is going to restrict air flow even more.

              • I fit a 16" spal without cutting. No oil cooler though

              • You are a magician! Well done!

I need to say a massive Thankyou to Wes Field for putting me on the right track with something and share with the rest of the group a little fix that saves quite a lot of money! I`ve been having pannier problems. The issue was that the left hand pannier would release as normal from the bike and then wouldn`t lock back on. BMW and a few other forums have given me no end of duff information and frankly BS on the problem and no-one (except Wes) seemed to have any knowledge of it. So, last night I took the box to pieces and had a look. You need to take off the painted cover from the bike side of the pannier and then the plastic trim panel from beside the handle. The locking mechanism then unscrews from the inside of the box. Once youve got it off, turn it over and look at the slider which moves the locking bolts in and out..this passes under 2 plastic parts and this is where the problem lies. The ends of the slider catch on the corners and jam. To get around it you need to file the corners off to allow them to pass (the bits I`m pointing at in the photos - also please note the aluminium bolt is shown in the photo the wrong way up!). Having done that and reassembled the pannier it works perfectly again!!! Its a fiddly pain in the ass job but it saved me £250...Cheers Wes, if ever I`m in Oz I`ll be buying you a beer!

For those that have been curious. I brought a new BMW Nav V and mount for my R1200GSA, with the intention of being able to swap it out for the Nav IV on the K16GT. We're constantly told you have to swap the GPS surround.

The two photos below show the same dash. The first with the old surround and Nav IV the second with the same surround and the Nav V.

For the expense of AUD$89 for a new surround, you gain just 3mm (less than 1/4 inch) at each end of the screen, that displays no information on the main screen. Please feel free to spend your money how you like. I'll use my saved money on something else.

              %d comments
              • Wes, your photos don't show the same dash. If you have one of the two dash selections that have four readouts across the bottom of the screen, they cannot be read on a Nav V with a Nav IV panel. My change (on my old 2013 K16) cost $A46.

              • You don't seem to loose anything off the top and bottom of the screen, just the sides. I'll swap it out and do it again

              • 0,6cm - optical it looks much more....

Have a look at thise as well :-)

              Reposting with better pictures.

Automatic, 245,000kms. Sunroof, Heat, AC, central locks all work.

Tires are in great shape, 80% tread.

Car runs and drives great, it's my daily driver. The car is in great shape for its age.

I've put $1300 into it recently. Car has a new radiator, expansion tank, upper and lower rad hoses, and a MAF. I had the brakes checked, coolant flushed, and oil changed as well.

Car will need rear brakes done soon but front have lots of life left. Brake wear light is on. Passenger window is also off track at the moment.

Asking $3000, open to offers within reason. Also open to trades.

BMW E46 320CD COUPE FSH REMAPPED — BMW E46 Owners forum uk buying and selling

For sale is a 2004 facelift bmw 3 series coupe in silvergrey, 320 diesel 6spd manual. Factory Msport.

The car has full service history with stamps up to the most recent service less than 10k ago. It has had extensive work carried out and has a very healthy engine. This car is really quick for a 2.0 diesel, has crazy amounts of torque and the turbo feels strong.

The car has done 147,000 miles.

The car has alcantara suede interior.

It is amazing on fuel, 38mpg extra urban and 58 mpg on the motorway.

Some of the work carried out:

                  - New clutch and dmf 10k miles ago

                  - Swirl flaps deleted

                  - Custom Remapped with rolling road printout (200bhp, 400nm, this is a safe map ensuring long clutch life)

                  - New discs and pads

                  - EGR blank

                  - Full service history, lots of receipts

                  - Recently new lower control arm

                  - Recently new rear trailing arm bushes

                  - 2 new front tyres

                  - 6000k HID xenon upgrade

                  - Kenwood headunit with Bluetooth and hands free capability (can come with standard cd changer)

                  - Straight through exhaust with dual tips

                  - Lowered on pro sport coilovers

                  - Adjustable drop links

                  - Tinted windows

                  Some bad points:

Drivers seat bolster is worn out

                  Osf fog light missing

Engine light is on as MAF is unplugged, believe it has been remapped like this

Front and rear bumpers have some scratches, rear bumper might need respraying or a good polish

                  Front wheels need tracking

All the issues aside I use this car daily and it never gives me any problems, looks stunning and drives well.

Any questions feel free to message me. Price takes into account all the bad points.

                  Thanks for reading.

Parked up at the NEC during the week. Didn't follow the marshalling muppets and parked at a side bit away from other cars. When I came back, of all the thousands of cars in the car park, next to me was a Model S. Do you think it was:

                        • Yes, absolutely. I go every year at least once and we go in my friends Merc SL because it's so much easier with no charging and we can go there and back without stopping for fuel (he's used to the expensive car fuel costs, I'm used to the expensive human fuel costs when we're there)

                        • We ate at a services on the way back. They could actually sell more if they actually understood the concept of setting your prices at the point where your supply and demand curves intersect. Higher price does not always equal higher profit.

                        • Plus they could keep parking costs down if they didn't employ 100 guys in HV vests pointing to a space. I think we know how to park a fu**ing car thank you!

Is anyone any good with electrics My car has gradually started gettting worse... — BMW E92 E93 Owners Forum UK

Is anyone any good with electrics? My car has gradually started gettting worse over the past few months; first started with time and date resetting every time i turned the car on and off, then the fuel would say for example 170, then i would turn the car off, come back a few hours later and it would be right down to 120. Then all the abs lights would pick and choose when they would want to come on. And now the dails aren't working and pretty much every light is up on the dash. Any helped would be amazing :L

                            • Check your battery and charging system there was few problems on these which were ecu getting soaked due to blocked drains on scuttle panel , battery positive leads where they go through the the battery tray walk corrode and last week had on intermittent starting and thrown up lights was fuse box behind the glove box

                            • Check for water in the battery tray if dry Charge the battery up and see if that cures it ! The clock resetting is usually a sign of low battery its the first thing to be effected ,

                            • My brothers alternator has just died and every light on his dash came on.

Everything above is also very relevant I had the same ECU sat water on a Discovery 3!

So I am replacing bunch of gaskets and seals Apparently I have an oil coolant... — BMW 135i

So, I am replacing bunch of gaskets and seals. Apparently I have an oil/coolant mixture in the COOLING system. Don't get the wrong idea. There's a difference...(Got that sorted out, but still open for suggestions). So, I wanted to clean all the oil that have spilled and got to the subframe.. removed that.. and now I will be replacing the oil pan gasket, just to make sure it wont leak..(car is @ almost 100k + track days).... my question is, is there a special tool to align the oil pan so it wont leak again. or maybe a bolt pattern for the oil gasket, if no tool is made for this? I accept all help on this. Thanks!

So, recently, my battery has been dying like there's no tomorrow. My alarm went off at 5am two days ago, and it killed the battery. Today, it just started hollering some more for no reason. Is this a sign that my battery needs to be replaced?

I jumped off this morning and went around the block (took the scenic route), backed in and shut off...I waited a few minutes and crunk right back up. Twice........I admit, my lights were on for two hours yesterday at work. ....fabulous kush...

Where did I go wrong? Wut do I need to do to resolve the issue?

                                  • I don't have the nav system OR the phone in my 740. But I AM going to leave it at AutoZone all day to see if it goes past 35%. It's not even the right size battery. The battery is so big that the cover doesn't close over it.

                                  • Well, my battery charged 100%. So far so good.

                                  • Now the random alarm chimes are next.

                                  • I have both. There are pros and cons to both. If this is your only car, it has to be an i3 Rex really. If you have another ICE, then the Leaf is fine and in some ways more practical eg 5 seats, proper boot.

                                    My opinion is rex

It totally gets rid of range anxiety

Last night i had 14% as i left a restaurant

By the time i had got to a rapid rex was running

I had no worries at all

If i was in the van i would have been sat forward tensed up thinking am i gonna make it to a charge point

I probably would have but thats the range anxiety kicking in even after driving electric for 2 years now its still there driving the BEV van

Not once have i had range anxiety in the rex

I've had nothing, but bad experiences on that end. So I DIY everything and it works out. Plus you save tons on labor, if you are out of warranty that is.

                                  • I've asked the guy in charge of EV charing roll out when we are getting 7kW pods. Been asking since July 2015 and always told something is imminent. Since the new reg this week I've only been able to charge twice as all the sockets are full and the users haven't registered on the mail group so we can request a swap over. Think we have 30 potential users now - for 4 13A sockets! :(

                                  • The thing is I don' object to them in principle.. like the guy who has a 6 mile commute... why should he buy an i3 if he needs a big car for family holidays. The rest of the year he'll be running on electric. It's just when they prevent others charging it ps me off. This is why if you need to travel regularly I think a REX will be the better solution for several years. At least until infrastructure catches up.

                                  • So frustrating

This has got to be a good reason to have rex

I really really wish my van had rex

                                    I would really want a 48kw battery

But rex and the exsisting 24kw battery would pretty much mean i would never need to change my van

(You got in there before me about rex)

I've been at Mobile World Congress (MWC17) this week. Obviously lots of android phones...... but also lots of cars

Mercedes had a Smart EV, and several presentations on upcoming EV's

BMW had a demo of the i3 garage self parking, and an Autonomous 7 series, using 5G to connect to the cloud

Vodafone invited me along to the Catalonia circuit to see their Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2X) demo with Audi. Look closely and you will see the camera from the white lead Audi being displayed on the dash of our car - improving safety when overtaking.

                                  Lots going on!

It's the end of the fist week with the i3. 1st impressions. Rapid! A little more body roll than I'd like but not overly so. I love the interior even if it is the standard interior.

The gom depresses me somewhat. Ok I'm driving it in comfort but it's only ever showing 116miles fully charged. My m/kwh is around 3. Climate set to 22 degrees.

I wonder if that will improve. Still more than enough for my daily needs at the moment.

Loving the app and the control it gives over charging as well as checking the cars status. I find myself using I remote rather than connected drive app. I'll have to try a rapid charge at some point I guess.

The icu charge points we have from the electric nation project are awesome with a nice readout on the screen showing status and charge rate.

Harmon kardon audio is better than the basic of course. Beautifully clear with reasonable bass but not as good as the professional audio on my e92 m3.

There's some wind noise from the drivers door seal but nothing too bad

Overall I love driving the i3 and look forward to getting in it.

                                    • I found the body roll felt bad at first but with the weight distribution of that battery the effects of roll on actual grip are different from other cars. It takes a little getting used to.

                                    • Well..... the performance is quite Punchy ;)

                                    • You'd get more range in EcoPro. I have mine set to EcoPro by default. I rarely use Comfort. EcoPro is probably better for winter driving anyway. It still feels pretty peppy to me in EcoPro.

I came to start my car and it just clicked, so I jumped leaded it and it started fine I think it's the alternator as it has been whining for a while but I've got no warnings and once car is running it's fine but will not restart and has to be jumped again I had a new battery about 8 months ago any advice would be helpful ?

                                    • How easy is it to disconnect?

                                    • Can we try it

                                    • Easy, on your negative terminal there will be a metal box, this is the ibs sensor, if you you follow the two wire coming off it one goes to the red positive terminal box (blue connector) and the other connects to the loom, just behind the rear light cluster, smaller blue connector, all the ibs does is send information to the ecu about the battery, and every so often when the car is not in use it wakes up to check battery condition, also sends more voltage to battery in colder conditions to help start, the suffer from water ingress and this fucks them up on older models mines 2006
