2015 is going to end — Modified BMW Owners Forum

2015 is going to end.

I achieved what I wanted. Came to uk 07.2013 with no money.

09.2014 bought 330ci for cash insured it straight away for whole year. 03.2015 car was almost ready for shows and track days. I'm living my dream and can only wish same to our members.

If you want something just get it. Dream big and try as hard as possible to achieve this.

Happy new year for everyone :) :D

I had safelite install a windshield because I m a little bitch After 3... — BMW forum 135i 335i 535i 550i

I had safelite install a windshield because I'm a little bitch. After 3 separate attempts, they did a nice job. But, grungy ass tech left 2 black stains on the interior windshield pillar. I assume it is cloth by its feel. It is tan colored and I don't like these stains. I am summoning any gurus that can assist here to remove these horrid stains. I don't want to bleach or discolor the tan pillar so any useful help on how to remove will be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Club soda and ice cubes work pretty well Duncan... Past that you can also use interior upholstery cleaners but not all of them are created equal.

  • The longer you wait...the less likely they will fix it. If its grease or adhesive or a mix.. You gonna need a new a-pillar cover.

  • I contacted my insurance as this was through them in the first place. Thanks for help

Thought I could beat UPS to the punch and pick up my diffuser and M3 emblem today from them (delivery is scheduled for Monday) but they told me they're closed. Boo!!

So I washed it and cleaned it for nothing but a nice pic. Here's to the end of 2015!

  • It was jet black before. Hit a retreat and Joe was nice enough to give me one as I waited for my purchase to arrive.

Somewhat of a review of my i3 experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hrrft_3s8q8 in summary I like the car but I need something with more than a 70-80 mile range. I've done it with my leaf for 2.5 years now and its not enough for me. I'd get the REX but I don't think I can get a carpool sticker for it anymore, and that is important where I live. I'd do BEV or REX for 1 more year though, since I do really like the car, just not for 2.5 more years.

If anyone has an i3 on the west coast that wants to get out of their lease for around a year please let me know!

Those of you running RBs...what clutch are you using? I'm seeing a lot about this 335is/550i clutch and considering going that route. Car is a E90 335i.

    %d comments
    • I'll take it to the drag strip once or twice maybe.

    • 335is and 550i clutch are the same. I replaced my clutch with one because it handles more power.

    • Look at that this way... This clutch goes in to much heavier car 550i etc with twin turbo v8 .. In 1er and 3er it holds up to 600 lbft of torque according to ppl who had it for a while

    • 2014's off the car two "point" one way, the other two "point" the opposite way. So if you swap them side to side they will all "point" forward or all "point" rearward.

    • ok that makes sense...it is why I've seen 2015s with rims pointing different directions on opposite sides.....that's a brain warper

    • It helps to think of them off the car. On the 2014's if you mix them up you could have them pointing opposite directions on the same side, lol. I think this is why BMW simplified the wheels, now it doesn't matter which side you put them on, one side will always point forward and the opposite will always point rearward. I actually like that they point different ways on the Giga and Terra, gives some added interest IMO. Some don't like it.

    • Tell the dealer, you get one and they missed it during the PDI from the dealer.

    • Or someone stole it off of the car.

    • If you can't get one from your dealer (for free) you might check aftermarket. I think they are all universally threaded, you'll find lots of them on eBay, perhaps one with anodized blue accents would look good on your i3 (if it has blue accents, maybe silver would look good if you have silver accents).

    • Yeah maintenance history should be a very big factor when it comes to picking the right car. Most of the cars on the market are around or past the 100k mark, where a lot of the big ticket items tend to need attention (VANOS, fuel pump, clutch, suspension, cooling system, etc.) and having one that's had all of those things sorted out will save you in the long run if you're letting the previous owner take the hit on getting those things done.

    • Thanks Everybody

    • Just make sure you get a PPI done at a reputable shop (Dinan, Edge, Ptech, Trackspec, etc), the last thing you want is a lemon, they get really expensive
