Okay so, trying to tackle why my roof is a bit shite today. This is it's attempt at going down, anyone got any ideas? Most logical thing I can think of is alignment but not really sure how to adjust.

I did find a huge puddle cos of a blocked drain hole in passenger side and once I picked all the crap out it went down as far as tucking into the compartment, but the compartment lid doesn't come down and then you have to reset the whole lot for it to come back up. I used to be able to push down on the roof in the compartment, it would click into place and then the lid would come down but it no longer wants to do that.

Any help appreciated. :)

Can anyone help me.. Iv got a BMW e46 325i 2002 facelift on 240k when I picked it up the expansion bottle was cracked on it the previous owner was driving it and it was all fine the temperature was fine he was sat outside a shop and the expansion bottle blew up since owning it iv replaced the expansion bottle read up about it and it said to replace it after 160k anyway since doing that the car was running fine no problems now it's got some stuff on the oil cap and the radiators leaking on it dripping water but not loosing a lot and the top radiator pipes getting abit hard. Is that a sign to say the head gaskets gone? If so how much roughly would it be to replace the head gasket and what parts do I need to do it?

A Day In The Life Of A BMW Driver — BMW Southwest Forum Uk

"A Day In The Life Of A BMW Driver

The other day I was cruising along as usual coming onto one of my motorways, which was very busy with inferior cars.

First off, I couldn’t believe that the volume of traffic DIDN’T slow down for me AT ALL as I came off the exit ramp! I had to squeeze into a barely big enough gap between two cars in order to get onto my motorway!

The driver of the car behind me did realise his mistake though and honked an apology to me with a long blast of his horn.

Unbelievably, I had to do the same again before I could get to the BMW lane.

Anyway, once I was in the BMW lane and posing along at 110 mph enjoying the adulation that the inferior car drivers were giving me, I noticed an inferior car ahead of me which was not only in the BMW lane of my motorway, but was driving at a ridiculous 70 mph!

Naturally, I got within a foot or so of his rear bumper and flashed my headlights to remind him he shouldn’t be in the BMW lane of my motorway and to get out of my way.

Of course, once he realised it was a BMW behind him, he did just that, but I could hardly believe it when he pulled straight back out behind me!

He also tried to keep up with me and when he realised I would out-run him, he put on some blue lights in his front grill and urged me to get onto the hard shoulder so that he could congratulate me on my excellent car.

Needless to say, I was eager to oblige and when we had stopped, the man gave me a piece of paper confirming what I already knew – that my car goes fast!

Apparently he wants everyone to know what a superior car I have, so I had to take my drivers licence to a police station to be sent away to have some points put on! (They’re not free points either – they’re £20 each and I was only allowed 3.) But the man at the police station said that because I drive a BMW, it won’t be much longer before I earn the full 12 points, and then I won’t even NEED a driving licence, so they will take it off me!

See, now THAT’S the sort of respect you get when you own and drive a BMW!"

Bmw 3 series 330ci manual 127000 miles mot till next august 2017 full red leather interior, harmann kardon stereo system, fsh till 113000 miles has been serviced since but not in the book, has got twin exhaust system, m3 front bumper and mirrors has had recent genuine sport suspension fitted (not lowered or messed about with) recent pads and discs recent tyres and recent service, also recent rear arch work to remove rust, genuine well loved car but this does not mean to say it's perfect it is old and has bad points like every car, the outside air temp sensor does not work, displays -40 all the time, the radiator has started to sag at the bottom, common on all e46 models but still cools ok and ive never had a problem, sometimes on very cold days can make a slight knotch between 3rd and 4th gear if put in fast but as soon as it warms up works fine, I have been told this is probably due to oil in the gearbox as it doesn't do it when it has warmed up,the boot intermittantly won't open by the switch but works with the key so has never bothered me, also has a towbar fitted but towball is removed atm and in the boot, trying to be as honest as possible but I'm sure I've probably forgotten something, please feel free to ask any questions

We I drove it about 2 miles before I realised as the water was pissing everywhere no heat in car and the temp was rising right up.

Today I filled the system right back up how ever it's still over heating and the interior heaters are giving no heat when I turn off the engine I can hear a hissing noise !? I can see water around the expansion tank how ever I cant be sure if it's water from filling up or not

Looking for anyone who can give me a idea on my situation..

Received a section 59 9 months ago for careless driving.

Just received a letter for running a red light ( while distracted by the amberlance I was moving out the way for ) but the ambulance is quite away ahead in the photo.

Meaning I went through the redlight a long period after it changed.

Do you think they will take into count the section 59?

I also have zero points to date.

                                    Thankyou.

Guys got a weird problem with my 320d e46 (kinda problem) occasionally, on cold mornings, if I put my foot down, my car seems to "over boost" then kind of die.. But idles fine with no power and shudders a bit for around 5 seconds then kicks back into life again and drives absolutely normally...

I installed a boost gauge to see what it said and after a few attempts of purposely trying to make it do it, the boost gauge went off the charts with the warning light on

I don't know what bar boost I am ment to be kicking out but it's usually around 1.3 at max boost but this time it went past 2.0!? Anyone have any clue what's going on?!

Can't find anything online about it

                                      Cheers beys

So my car every now and again, usually in low gear keeps cutting out or trying to stall, although usually if I give it some throttle and change gear it jolts a bit but keeps on going. However when idling it will often just cut out for no reason and I have to start the engine with a bit of throttle.

I personally think it's a fuel feed problem, maybe shit in the tank but it used to be worse when I had a ramair cone filter on it but I've since gone back to the original air box.

Any ideas? Past experiences that sound similar? Thanks in advance :)

Got to say people for a club with over 2000 members. I feel sorry for the admin when they organise meets and the normal 10 12 people turn up. Dunno what's wrong and i wish that people would say then maybe these problems can be addressed and sorted out. It's piss poor in my opinion. I understand some people have to work and family commitments but can't be 1990 people about time we grew as a club again. And amstart making this club what it could be.
