Hey guys I got bmw e30 325 1986 model that has been imported from New Zealand...

Hey guys , I got bmw e30 325 1986 model that has been imported from New Zealand in 1987 . It has been registered all its life in Queensland and since I bought it 4 years ago I have registered in Nsw . Now I am selling the car and had someone who wants to buy and organising finance through the bank so I had the red book inspector today who checked the car out and said it should have two compliance plate , one from manufacturer and other one from Australia . My car only have one fitted on the back of radiator support and its original one from bmw but we couldn't find another one . As far as I know Australian government started to fit their compliance plates on the cars after 1989 so It make sense why my doesn't have one but his concern is that original bmw plate doesn't tell you what year model is the car ! So my question is if the car is 1986 ( obviously means it's pre 1989 model) does it have to have two plates ??? My car been registered in au since 1987 and still registered with rms . Any help would be great ! Thank you

Hey y all first time posting here I ve just got a 1997 318ti got it from a car...

Hey y'all, first time posting here, I've just got a 1997 318ti got it from a car yard.. super happy bout it, however, it's got a few problems most easy to fix but I've just noticed that the fuel guage is not reading full when it is, at first i thought the car was chewing fuel but yesterday i filled it to the brim and on the dash it only shows 3 quarters full. I've had this car for less then a week. Wondering if I'd need a new fuel level sensor or just reset the fuel Guage or a new fuel pump. I really don't know much about bimmers I'm just learning and i thought I'd ask the enthusiasts before a mechanic

            89,513kms (not miles)

Le Mans Blue, very tidy car, would rate 9/10.

I own and have owned a few M3's and let me tell you this gives them a hurry up!

The Power and especially Torque is amazing coupled with beautiful handling.

You get the best of both worlds with this car, its Practical and extremely fuel efficient whilst being a great sports car that gives you a real kick if the mood takes you.

If you go online there are a few reviews of this car. It came in coupe, sedan and wagon (paddle shift only).

            Looking at getting around $25k.

Comes with all original service books and 2 keys. Registered until the 25/08/2017.

            PM me if interested.

Hello fellow members, I have just joined the club as a country member. I have a 1992 525i which I love dearly. I would like to learn about keeping this car in top condition and sourcing information and parts to do so. If there are any fellow members who have a similar vehicle and would not mind helping could they contact me. I am currently trying to source a new air conditioning compressor. I am also wondering if workshop manuals are possible to attain? I'm having no luck on the internet. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Hi all, a friend of a friend has crashed into this 320i (at fault) and has no insurance (silly). According to the bmw's owner, his insurance company said it's a write off and that it would cost $25-$30k. It was at low speed and no airbags were deployed or anything. What do you think? I don't know what year the car is or mileage or actual damage.

I was intending to go to the Bathurst 12hr in Feb but I have to return home to Perth ASAP as my father is very ill and I need to get back to spend some time with him.

I have a room with 2 x beds for check in Thursday 2nd Feb and check out Mon 6th Feb at one of our usual houses. I also have 2 x 3 day passes. It is in one of the 5 houses the BMW Club Queensland book out each year. Good bunch of lads and ladettes.

If anyone is interested, or knows someone, let me know. I have paid for everything and would just like as recoup any money I can.

I'm asking on behalf of a friend who has a 2012 BMW 116. it developed a coolant leak, and he was told that a plastic housing on the rear of the cylinder head was faulty, This was duly replaced, but the question is, Is this a known fault on this model? and will it happen again? There have been multiple issues with this car, plus a dealer who really doesn't seem to care, and a rear ender, (where she was not at fault) has severely shaken her trust in the car. (Please note I am a tradesman mechanic with 35yrs experience, including 20plus doing Euro's/high performance), but I have limited knowledge of current stuff.

Just had my M235i coated in Body Armour 9H, a Ceramic Paint Protection developed locally in Australia. I had my old car done with the same product 2 years ago and it was incredible.

Not a mark on the car 2 years later and never had to touch the car with any products to clean or wax, barely even a sponge.

I did an initial application and review when it was first done on my old car, and a 2 year follow up before I sold the car. Link to the articles below....

Not a paid endorsement and I paid full price for the product on both occasions. I just love spreading the word about stuff that works well.

Hi guys, I need advice from experts here. I have a 2016 F30 LCI that has stock brakes. I did some research on upgrading brakes and found there are 2 upgrade levels - M sport brakes (blue) which is just a new caliper with same rotor and another one is M Performance brakes with big calipers (red, orange and yellow) and slotted rotor.

M Performance brakes are expensive ($3000 approx) so I would like to go for m sport brakes. Please check the photos for clarity.

Has anyone taken this upgrade path ? If yes, could you please suggest any dealer who will do this.

Note: I'm considering this upgrade mainly for cosmetic looks, stock brakes are working perfect.

Hi all, my 2005 120i has been going into limp mode and the codes are 2a67 and 2a6b, apparently something to do with valvetronic and some forums say it might be an easy fix while others say it's serious. Has anyone experienced this?

I took it to a bmw mechanic yesterday and he charged me $250 for resetting the actuator but the fault appeared again. And now I don't have much spare $ to spend.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

My car is a 2007 325i with 112XXXKms, it hasnt missed a beat since i've bought it at 80XXXkms, today i got in the car, started the car and it started shaking.. then it turned off with a DBC stability warning, then it wouldnt start again, my oil levels are low, ive been delaying a service due to the festive season and work. so im just wondering could lowl oils level cause this problem and another question is what oils does everyone use for their 2007 325i M SPORT.

                                          thanks, any input is appreciated!

                                            G'day all,

At the 2017 Nationals in Brisbane we will be holding the usual Sunday Track Sprint Day at the iconic "lakeside Raceway" 25 minutes North of Brisbane CBD.

Lakeside is one of Australia's if not worlds most recognisable tracks. It is arguably Australia's fastest track. At full noise you really only brake twice. If you're a track jockey or just a casual track attendee, Lakeside wont disappoint.

You will be placed into groups depending on the vehicle and its equipped attire that you have. Dont worry, you wont be placed into a group above your cars or your ability. We'll have a number of current and past racers on hand to give you advice on the best way to get around.

We are going to secure a safe place to store your trailers etc over the long weekend as there will be nowhere at BMW CA Nationals HQ to keep them.

For some inspiration and for those who have never seen this track, check out Dave Towe (JPS E30 M3) and Richard Gresham (S14 2.5 litre powered 2002) having a bit of fun.... I promise you that Lakeside will leave you with a huge smile on your face. Just ask Dave and Richard.....or anyone else who has driven it.

The day is bbeing organised by our own Denis Wiesz who has organised many hundreds of track days for BMWCQ anda numbver of other clubs based in Queensland. The day will be a well oiled machine I promise.

Hai friends, my E61 530i needs a new radiator and ive been quoted $700.

Is that a fair price or should i shop around for other quotes and if so recommendations on a good shop in hills district/western sydney

Alternatively if that is about the going rate im going to look at just doing it myself. What brand of radiator is recommended for beemers and wheres the best spot to acquire it?

So JUST CAR INSURANCE is not issuing policies after January 2017 and all current policies will expire after the upcoming renewal date

Problem is I'm 21 and looking to upgrade and just car has been the cheapest insurers for expensive cars that offer covers for r35's and Amy's etc at very affordable prices (2-3k a year as where AAMI doesn't even cover you at all and NRMA charges 9-10k a year)

Are there any similar insurers I may not know of that offer cheap as chips full Comp insurance for high powered cars?

Ps. Bingle is cheap but doesn't offer covers for high powered vehicles

                                                    G'day all,

The BMWCA Nationals 2017 will kick off on April 14 with the "Meet and Greet" dinner. This is my favourite event of all the Nationals I have been too.

You get to catch up with old friends and meet new ones all the time in a relaxed casual atmosphere. Well at next years Nationals, nothing will beat the atmosphere we have planned at the meet and greet on Friday the 14th of April.

Our dinner venue at Captains Cove Bistro is in the heart of Dockside, BMWCA Nationals HQ. Captains Cove is quintessentially Queensland, its open, its casual, its scenic and its by the river. Afterwards, an evening scenic stroll across the Story Bridge is just metres away. The lights of beautiful Brisbane are all around you at Dockside. Pre-Dinner drinks are available from 5:30 pm and after a short welcome from myself, dinner commences at 7:00 pm.

Dont miss this one as it will be the start of the 4 days of festivities. Dont forget to book on the nationals website for all the Nationals activities.

I look forward to catching up with as many of you as I can.

Hey Guys, So i need some help, this afternoon after flooring first in my 323i E46, i heard a bang... now after hard acceleration in first Gear (Havent tried 2nd gear) the rear Left side wheel feels like its vibrating out of control, now slow acceleration to 80km/hr is fine. the problem does feel between the Guibo/driveshaft from the Gearbox to the rear left Wheel, i hoisted the car and the sub-frame doesn't show any signs of cracking, the shock towers havent cracked or shroomed, the rear sway bar is Aok and ive only just replaced the shocks and springs (10 months ago). I need to find a solution since its my daily, and i feel if the problems there under hard accelerating it will eventually move into the optimal driving area. Also could this be a wheel bearing issue?

"The Australian Motor Sport Appeal Court has dismissed an appeal submitted by Ricky Capo, after being excluded from the final race of the 2015 Australian Formula 3 Championship at Wakefield Park.

Capo was excluded from Race 4 at the Wakefield Park meeting, Round Seven of the 2015 championship, after his car's rear wings were deemed to be non-compliant according to the Formula 3 regulations.

Capo had submitted an appeal against the exclusion, however the appeal was dismissed by the Australian Motor Sport Appeal Court on Monday 7 November, 2016.

As a consequence of the ruling, Jon Collins has now been awarded with the 2015 Australian Formula 3 Championship. Collins was the championship leader at the end of Race 3.

Hey guys just a question — BMW Drivers Forum NSW

                                                            Hey guys, just a question!

I have a e92 335 2008, and last week my car had a engine problem where the engine overheat light came on and the engine just stopped in the middle of the road. I waited for 10 mins and turned the engine back on. But after traveling another 1 min the engine stopped again. After that i had to get my car towed to the mechanic.

The mechanic replaced the thermostat and said that the thermostat was not the problem. And said that the engine needs to be replaced to a new one.

The car has done around 110k and the same mechanic fixed a leak from the coolant a week prior to the overheating light and fixed oil leak from the engine as well.

The mechanic suggests me to change to a new engine costing $13k. What shall i do??

                                                              Hey guys,

Just in case anyone is interested, I contacted Ramspeed for some quotes on AC Schnitzer gear. I was motivated by the fact that when you modify with them, your new car warranty is intact.

Anyway, I know their quality is outstanding but that quality sure comes at a price. Here's the prices I was quoted for my 2015 M135i -

                                                              "Hey Blake,

                                                              AC Schnitzer Performance Items:

#1 Performance Upgrade Pack - AC Schnitzer ECU Module, Upgraded Intercooler, High Flow Cat/Downpipe – Price: $6840 incl. GST.

#2 Rear Exhaust & Endpipes – AC Schnitzer Rear Muffler – Price: $2920 incl. GST.

#3 Lowering Springs – AC Schnitzer Spring Kit (15mm F&R) – Price: $499 incl. GST."

Just FYI, I'm also getting a quote on some carbon dipping. I don't want fake carbon wrap so I'm considering having a front splitter, front grill, grill inserts and rear apron all dipped in real carbon by Ramspeed.

                                                              I'll keep you all posted.

                                                                  Hey guys!

Just went outside and realised a small puddle of fluid under the x6.

Thought id have a closer look and took underpanel off and there was tiny drops of green fluid dripping.

Looked from engine bay everything is spotless.

Underneath while car is running its just slighty dripping.

On board does bring up low coolant level.

                                                                  Any ideas?

It is really in amazing condition inside and out and 100% original. (Except has excellent after market power windows fitted!-they look original as though).

I am reluctantly selling it because I need a car more suited to driving on country roads, surfing trips and taking my dogs out and about.

Really love this bmer, it is in such good condition it still stuns me every day but I cant afford to keep two cars. It has so much potential to be even more awesome. I will be at peace only when the right person buys it.

To replace her I was thinking a classic bmw. Something more mechanical that I won't be afford to rip apart and mod to an extent. I found a 1990 735il e32. I've read up on the common issues. Wondering if anyone owns one and how much actually goes wrong and how they drive.

I've had it inspected by my mechanic who services a lot of bm's and it just has a minor oil leak and the bottom hose needs to be replaced. He said they were easy things and that I should go ahead with the purchase. The other thing is its cracked windscreen and my question is, can I just put a normal windscreen or does it necessarily need to have the rain sensor? As it is $220 vs $440.

Thanks and will post pictures as soon as I get the car.

Came from England since these are hard to come by for a rhd car. They were in pretty bad condition but nothing a wet sand and machine polish cant fix. Also added a few layers of Gyeon Quatrz ceramic coating for that extra gloss and protection. Now they look better than brand new! While I was at it I gave the interior a full detail and steam clean.

Manual Conversion update: All parts have been ordered and on the way. Ended up staying with Hills Eurohaus to do the conversion since I trust them and they gave me a good price. My other option would've been Brintech Customs. Mid Oct is when I'll get it started since I've lost my licence till the end of Sep.

I will need it just for about 5 or 6 months until I leave. I've already gone to see two of them, the first one was in Artarmon but it was obvious it had been involved in an accident as the panels were misaligned and sprayed. The second one didn't have any visible oil leak, the check was ok but the airbag and seatbelt light was on. The guy told me it was because he changed a bulb but doing some research I've found it could be the seat occupancy sensor. Do you know if that's a very important issue or easy to fix?

I’m currently in the process of collecting parts to convert my E39 540 to a manual since my auto box has stuffed itself earlier than i thought. Seeing how I was going to do the conversion anyway I may as well go ahead with it.

I already have all the parts sourced and know in detail what’s involved with it. I’d do it myself except I really don’t want to conquer this task with the car on a set or ramps. So my only alternative is to get a shop to do it. I’m waiting for a reply from hills eurohaus for a rough quote.

Could anyone else recommend me a BMW independent/specialist to do this? Don't want to limit myself to one option and I don’t want some random schlep at moey dw mechanics to mess with these sensitive ecus and ews modules. Thanks
