I was wondering if any one has installed a RACECHIP and has had there car serviced by MINI not sure if they can detect the use of one.
i wrote to race chip My Questions are, what kind of extra PK would i be expecting from the ultimate chip. And if the chip can be detected at service time with OBD reader.
I do wonder if even if you take them off come service time that the ecu won't record higher levels of boost etc and if BMW/Mini really want to see if ones been fitted they couldn't find out. Also is the RaceChip engine warranty available in Australia. https://www.racechip.com/chip-tuning/mini.html

Since RaceChip is installed on the injection system it isn't in any relation to car's ECU. A tuning is only detectable if it has been done on the ECU.
Therefore with removing the RaceChip it doesn't leave any traces of tuning.
So we recommend you to remove the RaceChip before going to service. On this way there isn't any risk of manufacturer's warranty.
We ourselves do also have almost only leasing cars. So it is at least as important for us as well that there are no traces of tuning after having removed the RaceChip.
For some legal reasons we can only offer our engine warranty within certain Eruopean countries.
However safety principle of course remains the same.
Since the RaceChip is an additional control unit it is only able to keep moving in the area of engine's and transmission's serial tolerance.
In case the RaceChip should ever calculate too high values which could cause damage to any part the original ECU would immediately cut the and run back to stock- or into limp mode.
So there isn't any risk for the engine or any other part of the vehicle.
